Crypto payment acceptance to get a boost in Switzerland
13 Nov 2019
Bitcoin Suisse is joining forces with European payment and transaction services provider Worldline to increase crypto payment acceptance in Switzerland.
Both companies have signed a letter of intent for a partnership to offer crypto payment services to merchants and consumers in Switzerland both in store and online, as reported by Switzerland Global Enterprise.
The 65,000 Swiss merchants using Wordline’s nationwide payments infrastructure, system will be able to use the new system.
According to a Coin Telegraph report, when boosted with the ability for crypto payments, the traditional system could be utilised large-scale in points of sale across the country as well as in e-commerce.
Marc Schluep, CEO of Worldline Switzerland stated that “through the cooperation with Bitcoin Suisse, merchants can benefit from an entirely new offering without taking any conversion risk.”
Both companies have said that the service will be simple to use and intuitive for both sales staff and consumers.
Payment to merchants will be made in Swiss francs or euros, with figures fully integrated into merchant reports, says Coin Telegraph.
Worldline plans to introduce the crypto payments division across Europe in the future.
As previously reported, SEBA, the cryptocurrency bank based in Switzerland, welcomed professional investors and enterprise clients this week. The crypto bank has secured a banking and securities dealer license from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority.
Increasing crypto payment acceptance in Switzerland is another example of digital currencies being the future of money.
This is a view echoed by deVere CEO and founder Nigel Green who was recently quoted by the media as saying: “The interest in cryptocurrency is growing exponentially, and this, I believe, will only increase as the demand for digital currencies soars in an increasingly digitalised and globalised world.”
